Malaysia divorce lawyer - General Questions on Joint Petition Divorce

1) What are the requirements to file for Joint Petition?
Both parties are agreed to the divorce and both will need to marrried for at least two (2) years.

2) Do I need to live separately for at least two (2) years with my spouse to file for joint petition?
No, you don’t have to.

3) Are there any grounds to be proven to the Court only then I can file for joint petition?
No, as long as both parties agree to the divorce and the Court is satisfied that both parties are freely consent to it, then the Court shall grant the Order [this is provided under Section 52 of the Law Reforrm (Marriage and Divorce) Act].

4) If I have lived separately with my spouse for two years, can I get the divorce automatically?
No, there is no such thing automatically divorce. You will still need to engage a lawyer to file for divorce.

5) What are the terms that I have to discuss with my spouse if I file for joint petition?
